Aspire to Greatness
A successful actor has to work for it. He/she has to hone his/her craft. He/she studies. Reacts. Listens. Take risks. A visionary director watches. Listens. Nurtures. Blazes new paths. Coaxes. Jumps at that perfect project. A talented, successful screenwriter writes. And writes. And writes some more. And then writes more after that.
The film business is made up of the top ten percent. Only the hardiest survive. It takes dedication, persistence and drive. There is no “overnight sensation”, there are only champions. And champions work at it!
Every skill that I have learned in the film business also applies to every other area of my life. On a film crew you work as a team. All the folks that work on films are the best in their field. On a film crew, you find the finest, most brilliant creative minds at work. Being around these folks is like being in the finest master class. I watch. I soak up as much as I can. With so many creative minds and so much pressure there are lots of egos and yes, there is some screaming, and some heated moments. There are also moments that you can’t believe you are witnessing. Moments of genius. There are moments filled with brilliance, passion, beauty and love.
The point is, that film is like life. To get ahead (with work, friends, love) you have to be dedicated. Do your best. Strive for excellence. Take risks. Blaze through the negative stuff and drink more from the “cup half full.” Champion others. Pick yourself up when you fall and never give up!
It takes confidence. It takes skills. It takes being around successful people who are doing what you want to do.
The Nuts and Bolts
So, here’s where the Teen Film Mentor 2010 program comes in. I’ve cast over 60 films. I’ve launched many film projects. I know what it takes to be the most amazing person you can be (Lord knows I keep working on my shine) and I want to share what I know. Do you want to learn? Do you want to grow? Do you want to do something creative and fun? Do you want to feel more confident? I think it would be really cool to hang out twice a month for a couple hours.
We can work on the total package. We will talk. We will work on scenes. We will work with art. We will focus on writing. We will entertain each other with story-telling. We will brainstorm about show ideas. We will share our hopes and dreams and will support one another along the way.
Maybe we could all catch a movie. Or go do something fun. Mostly it will be an adventure in excellence while learning how to succeed on your journey. It’s about creating and aspiring to greatness. It’s about perfecting your life’s work and making it an amazing journey.

- If you would like to apply please write a letter stating why you would like to be a part of this project. (Pssst ! Do you know that writing a thoughtful, intelligent, humorous letter for something you want opens more doors than calling or e-mailing? Just a little something your teen will learn as part of this project.
- I am accepting eight (8) teens into the project – Additional teens will be placed on a waiting list for the next session.
- I am leading the Teen Film Mentor Project because I love kids and teens and I want to give back. I have had a great many teachers and I want to do my part for the next generation.
- I am especially open to teens that are shy, teens who could use some more friends (who couldn’t use some more friends?), and teens that burn to act and grow and don’t know how to begin.
- I am an expert at making things happen. I am an expert at picking myself up and dusting myself off. I am an expert at surviving in a tough business. I am a huge believer in helping others and being the best person I can be. I’d like to pass some of this along.

Please include a photograph (don't worry about the photo - I'm a casting person and pictures give me a sense of who you are - this mentorship is not based on what you look like) and let me know a little about yourself, including your age, the school you attend, town you live in, and your address, phone number and e-mail address.
